This beautiful girl is the daughter of my best friend. Her mommy was my rock through my crazy teenage years. We had so much fun together. Life has pulled us in a millions directions. We’ve had our ups and downs, but they just made me love her more. Her huge heart has been passed down to her sweet girl. This little one has one of the kindest, gentlest hearts I know. She loves every breathing thing as if it was her best friend. She is just crazy about animals, especially kitties and horses. When her mommy said she wanted some art to use for her bedroom in their new home, we began dreaming up this shoot together. Really it started when I scored this gorgeous 1920s vintage girl’s dress from a vintage clothing store. It fit her perfectly, and inspired the whole feel for our shoot. I made her the sweet headpiece to go with it, and we were ready for some horses. 🙂 I knew I wanted something really magical for her so that she would feel like the little princess that she is every time she glances at it on her wall.

We started her off riding Smokey bareback. She was so brave as he danced around trying to get the horseflies away. Then, we got to spend time with this gorgeous little colt and her mommy. When Makinsey knelt down and connected with her like she did, her mommy and I knew that it was “the” shot. 🙂 I added in some photoshop touches to make it extra magical for her. And to finish up, of course I had to have her dance and twirl in that pretty dress because every girl needs to just twirl their dress sometimes! More than anything, I think this shoot made her mommy and I realize just how big she has gotten. I can’t wait to see where life brings her because I know she will do amazing things!
