When Should You Book Your Maternity Photos?

maternity

Hey there, beautiful mama-to-be! Can you believe you’re growing a tiny human? It’s such a miraculous time, isn’t it? As I sit here, watching my youngest build a tower of blocks, I can’t help but think about how quickly these precious moments slip away. That’s why I’m so passionate about capturing the beauty of pregnancy through maternity photos. So, let’s talk about when you should book your Maternity Session to get those perfect bump shots!

The Perfect Time for Maternity Photoshoot: 28-32 Weeks

You know how pregnancy feels like it’s flying by and crawling along all at once? Well, when it comes to maternity portraits, there’s a sweet spot we’re aiming for. I usually recommend scheduling your session between 28 and 32 weeks. Here’s why:

  • Your bump will be beautifully round and photograph-ready.
  • You’ll still have that pregnancy glow without feeling too uncomfortable, swollen, and exhausted..
  • It’s before you reach full term, so we’re not risking any surprise arrivals before the date of your session!

But every pregnancy is unique (trust me, mine were as different as night and day!). If you’re carrying multiples, we might want to schedule a bit earlier, around 25-30 weeks. And if this isn’t your first baby, you might show earlier, so we could aim for the earlier side of that 28-32 week window.

When to Actually Book

Here’s a little secret: the best time to book your session is right after that exciting 12-week doctor’s appointment. I know it might seem early, but trust me on this one. It gives us plenty of time to plan and ensures you get your preferred date. Plus, it’s one less thing to worry about as you get further along and start nesting (oh, the nesting phase—I remember it well!).

A Moment of Reflection

You know, there have been so many times when I’m snuggling my babies that I close my eyes and whisper a little prayer of gratitude, asking to always remember exactly how this moment feels. That’s what I want to capture for you in your maternity photos—not just how you look, but how you feel. The excitement, the anticipation, the love you already have for your little one.

The Bottom Line

Mama, no matter when you decide to book your session, I promise you won’t regret it. These portraits will be treasures that you and your family will cherish for years to come. They’ll remind you of the strength of your body, the love in your heart, and the miracle of life growing inside you.

So, what do you say? Are you ready to document this beautiful journey or motherhood? Let’s chat and find the perfect time to capture your glow. After all, as a mom of two, I know all too well how quickly these moments pass. Let’s freeze time together, even if just for a moment, and create memories that will last a lifetime.

Remember, you’re doing an amazing job growing your little one. Celebrate it, document it, and most importantly, enjoy every moment of it.
