Is there anything better than the early days of baby snuggles? Of course, there’s so much more to this season of motherhood than that, but we’ll soak in all the snuggles for as long as we can! This Hattiesburg studio newborn session for baby Sloane is just about as sweet as it gets.

As a newborn photographer, ⁠getting my clients scheduled 5-14 days after birth is where the magic happens. It’s a special time when babies are still able to mimic how they were in the womb. They tend to be sleepier and are more likely to curl up in a way that’s both safe and comfortable for them. While I photograph newborns up until 8 weeks after birth, this optimum window is one of the many reasons scheduling your newborn session no later than your second trimester is so important.

Baby Sloane’s Newborn Session

This sweet couple celebrated welcoming their first baby, Sloane, with a newborn session in the studio. You can feel the absolute adoration they have for their new baby girl. The way dad looks at her is enough to melt your heart, and the detail photo of Sloane with her mom and dad’s hands might just be a forever favorite. Every moment was so special and an honor to not only get to document for them but to witness.

Sloane loved being awake. She made the best eye contact with me at the beginning of her session before dozing off. Once asleep, she loved curling up on her belly. She also loved being swaddled, and of course, snuggling with mom and dad. Her wispy brown hair was so darling with tiny little bows and her still fuzzy little feet made my heart so happy.

For Sloane’s newborn session, mom really wanted an all-white look. She chose a beautiful white dress from the LSP wardrobe collection with texture to ensure their photos still had plenty of visual interest. I love how it all came together, and this beautiful family will always have these first moments as a family of three to look back on!
