There are certain sessions that bring me back to the heart of why I do what I do, and remind me just how blessed I am to be a Bay St. Louis newborn photographer. This newborn session with Sweet Leni was one of those. She has been my lone girl in the studio for quite a while, and I was excited to be able to pull some things from the LSP studio collection to go with an heirloom from grandma.
Generational Images During your Newborn Session
Every ounce of this newborn session was full of tender moments. What made it extra special was the addition of another heartbeat in the studio- Leni’s grandmother. I love that mom wanted to include her in Leni’s newborn session. These are moments and images they will all have to cherish for the rest of their lives.
It made choosing favorites for this post (and her album) nearly impossible, though! A few of my favorites are the portraits that show the connection between Mom, Grandma, and Leni. I love that you can see it on Grandma’s face how proud she is of both of her girls.
When your own babies become mommas themselves, you know just how much their lives are forever changed. I’m so overjoyed for Leni that she will have not one but two amazing women in her life to look up to. Being able to document those moments for them was such a precious gift to my photographer heart.
The Details
Leni came into the studio for her newborn session when she was six weeks old. This is a little older than I typically photograph newborns, but I love her awake, alert images and seeing little glimpses of her personality. Mom has started her album, choosing several favorites from her newborn session, and we’ll add to it over the next year. Leni is a Baby Story client and we’ll be documenting her milestones as she grows!
For wardrobe, we pulled from the LS studio collection for all three ladies. Mom chose a beautiful floor-length white dress with the perfect draped sleeves, and Grandma wore a beautiful blue-gray top to pull in a bit of color and texture. Then for Leni, we kept it really simple and sweet with an assortment of wraps and headpieces.
Grandma also knitted a pink blanket for Leni and wanted to incorporate that into her newborn session. Sometimes bringing meaningful, heirloom items to your session can add that personalized touch that makes your session unique.
I can’t believe 2022 is just around the corner, and I’m so excited to welcome some sweet Bay St. Louis newborns into the studio in the new year! If you’re expecting, are you having a girl? Let me know down in the comment box below.
Haleigh MUA pampered Mom with hair and makeup and also gave Grandma a mini-makeover as well. Hair and makeup are included with all classic sessions.
